Mark Comstock Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

MARK GREGORY COMSTOCK Mark Gregory Comstock, 55, of Juno Isles, North Palm Beach, FL passed away peacefully at home, with his beloved wife and family by his side, on Friday, May 20, 2011. Mark was a genuine Florida native, avid fisherman, and shell collector. He had a zest for life, was a very loved man, and left his "mark" on all he met in his life. He will be truly missed. Of Mark's many contributions, he was a disabled U.S. Army Veteran; proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers; worked for the Palm Beach Gardens Post Office for thirty-five years and was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus, Santa Maria Council #4999. Mark was always cheerful. He had the best smile and left behind his joy and love to all he greeted in his life. We will meet again in heaven. Mark is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Mariclaire; his children, Theresa Rose, Mark Gregory, and Janiclaire. And "Poppy" will be missed by his grandchildren, Haylee Rose and Zachary Thomas. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Henry Comstock, Tim Comstock (Jamie, Tina, and Ashley), Christina and Kip Carpenter (Abby, Kasey, Nicholas, and Joseph), and Vicki Comstock and Rob Kiselack. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Lorraine and Henry Comstock. Mark will also be missed by his wife's family, the Kearns'; his god-children, nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers, and customers. The wake will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Knight's of Columbus Santa Maria Council Hall, #4999, 11499 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Scripture Service will be held at 7PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at St. Clare Catholic Church, North Palm Beach, with Rev. Fr. William D. O'Shea as celebrant. Committal Services and Burial with military honors will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach. Friends are invited back to the Knight's of Columbus Council Hall following the Burial. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Mark's favorite charity, Xaverian Missionaries Society, Wayne, New Jersey, 07470. Mari and Family,

I was sad to read in today's paper of Mark's passing. I remember him as one of the friendliest neighbors and always having a smile and something nice to say. My girls played with your children growing up. The last time I saw you and him was at one of the concerts in WPB and was happy to say hi to you both. God bless you and your family.

Mari, and family although Mark and I lost touch in the later years. I will always remember the old times.Camping in the keys. Hanging out at the property. And fishing and fishing and then some more fishing. Our lavish apartment in west palm beach.I remember him walking his mail route on Prosperity farms road. We did get to talk a couple of times about family /kids /and life in general I will never forget the old times and what a stand up friend he was. I would say R.I.P But I have but I have a feeling he is fishing the pilings in the islands, and watching over all of us.Bless all his family and friend........Rick Mills

Mark, you were first known to me as "yahoo". I think we all had some type of nickname, some were harder to shake than others. I know you had strength, love and courage. Of course you had humor and a great big ole smile for all of us. I am sad for your family who now has to live without you, but I am so happy that you no longer have to suffer. You are amazing, a great role model, and I will miss you very, very much. To Mari, Theresa, Mark, Jani, Haley and Zach, and all of the various and many other Comstocks, I give you my prayers for strength and a wink to acknowledge that Mark, I am sure is now fishing...

My wonderful cousin Mark with the biggest smile I have ever seen. We had such great crazy vacations together whenever us snowbirds ventured down. Then when I got older, the one time I really remember was your mom and dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary at your house. Great things to remember. Please if you see Moosie and Pago up there give them a big hug and kiss for me. See you sometime!

What a great human being.

As a Frenchnen's Landing resident we always awaited his smile and greeting.

I recall so well how he aided an elderly resident who had fallen on the pavement as he traveled her street. He stopped, aided her and awaited emergency personnel. He did not leave until he was sure full assistance was at hand.

There are far too few humans with the concern and genuineness like Mark.

We all will deeply miss him.

God bless his whole family.
