PAUL W. HASTINGS Age 70, of Lake Worth, FL, died February 14, 2009, after a lenghty illness. He was the son of the late John W. and Mae (Stowe) Hastings of Gainesville, FL. He is survived by brothers, Warren D. (Charlotte) Hastings of concord, NH, J. Hughes Hastings of Whitman, MA, brother-in-law, Robert G. Esterberg of Deltona, FL and many beloved nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews. Born in Boston, MA, he settled in Florida at an early age. A graduate of Miami Senior High School, he went on to earn a degree in business administration from the University of Florida. He worked for a time as an accountant with Eastern Airlines. He then worked for the Florida Department of Revenue in the Corporate Tax Division. He had prior service as an intelligence specialist in the U.S. Air Force. A Memorial Service will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the DEL LAGO FUNERAL HOME, 131 S. Lakeside Dr., Lake worth, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be given to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 To express condolences and/or make donations Visit PalmBeachPost.com/obituaries

Please accept my deepest sympathies. I worked with Paul at the FL Dept of Revenue and kept in touch with him after he retired. He was a kind and wonderful human being.
