I am just seeing this message today sorry to say. I am very grateful for Chappy being my Dad's best buddy. All I remember growing up was, Chappy this, Chappy that. I am happy for his family that they had him as long as they did, that he was a wonderful person and, I am thankful in knowing he is enjoying Heaven and beating my Dad (as usual) at Golf every chance he gets. Love to you all. jacki bell

CHAPPY was my Godfather. He and my Dad, Fred Sloan were very good friends during their years on Wall St. I grew up hearing about Chappy this, Chappy that. He was just wonderful. I went to see him at his NY office, but he had gone off to a meeting, so I missed him. I hope the family is well, as this is that darn cycle of life thing. My best wishes to all of you.

Condolences to Terry and to the family and friends of Dick Chapdelaine on his passing. Chappy was 2 yrs ahead of my Dad at both St Johns Prep/Bkln, NY and Niagara University, NY; and they remained friends ever since. I too, attended Niagara and had the pleasure of seeing him and speaking with him for many years and it was an honor. His success was well known; and his generosity in all walks of life were legendary. There wasn't a charity event around Metro NY area that he was not involved with; not to mention his support of all things near and dear to his heart; of which many have been mentioned. My Dad passed 6 months ago; and was proud of his friendship with Dick and took pride in the mutual long standing friendships they shared with others dating back to the 40's. It was an honor to know him by extention; and considered him a friend as well; as he always had time for others.

I met Dick shortly after joining a small bond firm.It developed into a great friendship and also a fierce rivalry.Dick went to Niagara while I attended St Bonaventure, the schools were very competitive in Basketball and Dick and I would make a friendly bet when we played each other, neither of us ever collected !To have known Dick was a privilege,to have been his friend,an honor. He will be in my prayers for the rest of my days,he was truly one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known.May God rest his soul.
