Family-Placed Obituary

ROBERT FELTZIN "Bob" Robert "Bob" Feltzin passed away on April 24, 2011 at the age of 66 from complications of Multiple Myeloma. He was born on May 2, 1944 in New York, NY, the son of Saul and Mae Feltzin. He grew up in Dayton, OH and graduated from Meadowdale High School. After his graduation from the Ohio State University, he married his college love, Cindy Goodman. They had three children. Following a successful career as a general contractor in Miami, where he lived for 35 years, Bob retired at 52 and pursued his passions, which were golfing with his friends at BallenIsles and Mirasol as well as travelling with his family. The focus of Bob's life was his wonderful wife, his children, grandchildren and extended family. He loved to watch sports and to coach his children's sports teams. In addition, Bob was an accomplished gardener, having won many awards for his bromeliad and orchid plants. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Feltzin; children, Stephanie (Scott) Stoloff of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Brian (Allison) Feltzin of Glencoe, IL, Melanie Feltzin of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; father, Saul of Boca Raton, FL; father-in-law, Nate Goodman of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sisters, Carol Eisenberg of Belfast, MN and Joyce Pear of Yorktown Heights, NY; and grandchildren, Samantha, Zachary, Chloe, Lucas and Emma. He also leaves behind many close friends, many of whom were his lifelong friends. There will be a memorial service on Friday, April 29 at 1:00 PM at Temple Judea, 4311 Hood Road, Palm Beach Gardens, with a reception to follow the service. A very special thank you to Bob's physicians, Dr. Bobby Green, Dr. Shachar Peles and the outstanding nurses and staff at the Palm Beach Cancer Institute. And sincerest gratitude to Dr. Kenneth C. An appropriate way to describe Bob Feltzin in one sentence is the following:
To his innumerable friends, Bob Feltzin was always a true mensch.

I don't think that I can do better than what Sharon and I wrote at the time of Bob's passing, which I will copy below

Just a few of Bob Feltzin's exemplary qualities were kindheartedness, loyalty to friends, being a marvelous parent, optimism, excellent judgment, high intelligence, and bravery. In brief, Bob was a true mench, a yiddish word meaning a person of integrity and honor. We are proud to have been his friends.

. All were built.

Bob will always be remembered with affection and respect by all who knew him. He had a kind heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a deep concern for people he knew well and for those around him. He was a great builder. I still think of the day he stopped by our bouse after Hurricane Andrew to see if we were okay. He had lost his house that day but took the time to check on other people he knew. He was a unique and sweet man. He is missed.

Robert and his family were good friends and became my first clients in Cutler Bay, designing 5 model homes for their development company.

My condolences to the Feltzin family, I am saddened by your loss. Memories of Bob and the entire family flooded my my mind this morning as I read the obit. I thought mainly about my introduction to Miami, after graduate school, as the new athletic trainer/teacher, at Palmetto, back in 1985. The support and guidance offered to me by Bob, on so many occasions, is something that I still cherish after 26 years! To his family, I sincerely hope that you find solace in the remembrance of better days. Experience great pride for the man who did so much for so many and lead, with his wife by his side, such a wonderful family.
