Steven McLAUGHLIN Obituary
August 8, 1950 - June 25, 2013 Steven Marc McLaughlin, a former Palm Beach County resident, passed away on June 25, 2013 at his residence in Clearwater Beach, FL. He was 62. He was born August 8, 1950 in Quantico, VA. He was the son of the late Major Frederick C. McLaughlin USMC retired, and Rosemary Rogers McLaughlin. Steve was predeceased by his brother, Jim. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his mother, Rosemary, of Charlotte, NC; sons, Brian (Lori) of South Daytona, FL, Chris (Jessica) of Dunedin, FL, and Megan (Juan Mullerat) of Miami, FL. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tristan, Maggie, and Kirstyn; his twin brother, David of Bozeman, MT, brothers, Mike of Vero Beach, FL, Bob of Charlotte, NC, and a beloved sister-in-law, Anita McAdam of Charlotte, NC. Steve lived in Palm Beach County from 1994 to 2008, mostly in Jupiter. He was a Naval Academy graduate, class of 1972. After graduating from Annapolis, he served eight years in the Marine Corps and had been in the private sector since 1980. Aside from his love of family, he loved to sail and was very involved with Cost of Freedom, Inc. A Mass in celebration of Steve's life will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Episcopal Church in Indian Rocks Beach, FL. Interment will follow at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Marine Semper Fi Fund (www.costoffreedominc.com).

Steve, was a Great Guy, he and Tony Bjorn hired me in Leesburg, FL with Ditch Witch many years ago. I know he was a Loving Husband, Wonderful Father, Proud Marine, Good Provider, and a Great Boss and Teacher. I worked many days and nights with Steve all over Florida selling and trainining customers with Ditch Witch over the years. I am happy and proud to have know Steve, Kathy and their children and it was a pleasure working with him. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him! We loved you Steve! My family has loved you & your family ever since you taught my Brothers(Brig/Brock)& I how to "burble" peas in the early 90's. I am so sorry for your loss. Steve was a good man and I was proud to have him as a friend. I enjoyed every day that I worked with him in the Ditch Witch business years ago.
He was a honest man that held to his belief in doing it right - always.
I will miss the opportunity to see and visit with him as I know you will also.
