Stuart HORTON-BILLARD Obituary

HORTON-BILLARD, Stuart Leigh Stuart Leigh Horton- Billard (nee John Gruner), age 90 of Lake Worth, Florida passed away on December 27, 2017. Stuart was born on April 10, 1927, orphaned and later adopted, and was a graduate of the University of the South. He served in War World II. Was English Professor for St. George Academy, Cheshire Academy and longtime Camp Counselor for Kenmont Camp. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Lake Worth. He loved the Library and shops in downtown that always offered him a seat to observe and read. In recent years he was a resident of Oasis Nursing and Rehab, where he was treated with dignity and respect. Stuart was predeceased by his parents John Gruner and Bertha Lohn Gruner and his 3 sisters, Frances Schule, Clara Leibman and Mary Spangenberg. He is survived by several nephews and nieces and their families, including Dorothy Petrucelli, Carol Guedez, Paul Schule, June Ford, Diane Schule, and Robert Schule. Some people through life always leave a lasting impression and although a long time ago 1983/84 I still remember our talks about the Great USA and the UK I taught Riflery so we would chat between quiet times when a group of kids changed over, what a lovely person so sorry to just hear of his passing RIP Kind Regards

Stuart Horton Billard taught archery at Kenmont and he was also was a well-liked and unique counselor, larger than life and full of life. His name served him well as both it and he were unforgettable.
