MINONK - Rosemary Lou Oldenburg, 94, of Minonk, died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Arc of El Paso.
Rosemary was born on May 1, 1929, in Findlay, IL, to Roy A. and Olive R. Rose Pogue. She married Arthur Oldenburg on August 12, 1951, in Shelby County, IL. He died on March 2, 2012.
Surviving family includes her children: Rodney (Jan) Oldenburg of Tallahassee, FL, Mark Oldenburg of Toluca, Delene (Jim Pringle) Oldenburg of Minonk, Timothy (Asma Bayane) Oldenburg of The Plains, VA, David (Linda) Oldenburg of Rockford; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Perry (Julie Humphreys) Oldenburg; and siblings: Dwight (Betty) Pogue, Marjorie (Norman) Christman, Aubrey (Helen) Pogue, and Marilyn Pogue.
Rosemary was a housewife and loving mother and taught for 25 years as a third-grade teacher at the Minonk Elementary School. She was a member of the IL Retired Teachers Association, Minonk Millennia Park Committee, St. Paul United Church of Christ, Minonk Garden Club, U of I Home Extension, and the Woodford County Historical Society.
A memorial service is planned for the Summer of 2024. Cremation rites have been accorded.
