He was born September 17, 1986, in Normal, son of Dr. Jeffrey Jones and Heather Bratberg. Surviving are his parents and step-parents, Jeffrey and Jenny Jones, Downs, Jerry and Heather Bratberg, Bloomington; his siblings: Ashley (Jonathan) Waldman, Atlanta, Chancellor (Emily) Williams, Bloomington, Taylor, Alex and Casey Jones, Downs. Also surviving are three nephews: Zachary and Andrew Waldman and Copeland Williams and one niece, Brooke Waldman.
Ryan was a sweet son, brother and friend to everyone he met. As a young boy, he was a great artist and athlete. He loved music, especially The Doors and Jimi Hendrix and many a time could be found drinking a Jaegermeister and singing at Jim's Steakhouse. He enjoyed movies and quoting his favorite lines. He liked baseball, traveling with family and spending time with his friends from church. He honestly loved people and his community. Ryan was dealt a tough hand in life after a devastating high school football accident caused a traumatic brain injury that would forever dictate his life. Ryan persevered and always had a smile on his face happy to greet and meet everyone. Ryan was truly one of a kind. He was constantly making us laugh and keeping us on our toes. We rejoice that Ryan is now free from his worldly suffering. He was a kind, charismatic soul who will be missed by many. As Ryan would say, "Peace be the journey and don't forget to buckle up!"

I'm so sorry to hear of Ryan's passing. I used to work with him at Jewel. He was one of my favorite baggers. Always smiling, and so friendly to the customers. He used to sing all the time, so when it was slow, we would sometimes sing a song together. Out favorite was "Bicycle Race," by Queen.
He was a sweet soul. May he rest in peace.

I remember Ryan from his working at Jewel on Oakland. My son would always look for him at the register to bag the groceries whenever we went to the store. And...yes as always, he had a smile on his face. My deepest sympathy to your family. He was wonderful guy.
