Clare Margaret Brake, 91, passed away at Kindred Hospital February 9, 2012. During her life she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Clare was born December 24, 1920 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Clare Margaret Parham Salvo and Orlando A. Salvo. She attended Ursiline Academy in New Orleans, graduated from St Charles Academy and attended business school in Lake Charles. Clare is also survived by her brother, O. A. Salvo, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA. She married the late Donald Rhea Brake during World War II. They had two daughters, Donna Clare Brake White of Lake Charles, LA and the late Carol Elizabeth Brake. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Daniel L. White, his wife Marsha and children Ashleigh Lauren and Ethan Daniel; Laurie Clare May of Reno, NV and her husband Bill May and their daughter Lauren Clare. She also had four step grandchildren, Jonny (deceased), Alex, Ryan and Emily May. Clare was known for her good sense of humor and loved to have fun. Her friends were very dear to her especially the first four friends she met when she moved to Pasadena. Clare was a resident of Pasadena, Tx for 60 years. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Grandview Funeral Home, Pasadena, TX in the chapel.
