Rebecca Greer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller Funeral Services - Houston on Mar. 23, 2026.
Rebecca Louise Greer, born August 30, 1946, passed from this world on March 19, 2026 at the age of 79. She is survived by her sister, Cindy Wright; her daughter, Amanda Coyle and husband John Coyle; her daughter, Jennifer Leary and husband Andy Leary; and her grandchildren, Katherine Benson, Laura Coyle, and Ryan Leary.

Becky was born in Harlingen, Texas where she spent her early childhood with her parents, Louis and Louise Sain. In the early 1950's, the family moved to Dallas, and then relocated in 1956 to Pasadena, Texas. Becky graduated from Milby High School in 1964. She attended the University of Houston and graduated with a degree in home economics in 1970.

While working at Foley's Department Store, Becky met her husband, John Greer. The couple married on June 28, 1968. In the early 1970's, John and Becky moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, where their daughters, Amanda and Jennifer, were born. In 1982, the family moved back to Houston.

Becky was a stay-at-home mother for several years, and subsequently worked as a pre-school teacher at Sharpstown Christian School. Later, she worked at Houston Baptist University as a secretary in the nursing department.

Becky was an angel among us – always willing to help and go the extra mile. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, field trip chaperone, birthday party planner, and foreign exchange student host. She was always her daughters' biggest cheerleader and an amazing example of a strong woman. Becky loved reading and traveling, and she especially loved being "Grammy" to her three grandchildren.

Becky was faithful to the Lord until the end, and was the sole caregiver to her husband, who succumbed to Alzheimer's disease, and to her mother in her mother's elderly years. Becky kept the faith, and will surely hear in Heaven, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

A graveside service will be held on March 28, 2026 at 10:00 am at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Healing Hands Home Health or Beyond Faith Hospice in Wichita Falls, Texas.
