Joan Nuber

Joan Nuber passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 96. Until the end, Joan's kindness, grace, compassion, love of family and friends, gratitude for her long life full of wonder, and her sense of humor shined through.

Joan is survived by her children, Gregory Charles Nuber, Bonnie Joan Cameron, Timothy Wayne Nuber, Corey Mark Nuber, and Holly Beth Nuber; grandchildren, Brooke Emily Nuber and Richard Henry Nuber; great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Denby; and by numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Henry Nuber; eldest daughter, Nancy Carol Nuber Graves; eldest granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Graves Denby; grandson, Gregory Charles Nuber, Jr.; sister, Hedy Gnewuch Frisbie; and her parents, Herman and Florence Gnewuch.

Joan cherished her family and friends with her steadfast convictions as her guide, Joan had the unique ability to adjust her style of communication to create intensely personable relationships with everyone she knew. IYKYK (that means, 'if you know, you know')!

Joan's view on life? Live it! And Joan did just that. While her death leaves a gaping hole in each of us, she shared so much wisdom and many life lessons through her experiences, that we can find strength, and can honor her legacy by sharing what we have learned with those near and dear to us.

Rest in Power, Joan Nuber, you definitely lived your life and gave each of us a model to strive for!

A memorial service will be held on March 19, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 4900 Jackwood St, Houston TX, 77096.
