David Alspaugh Obituary

David Brant Alspaugh, 90, died September 24, 2011. Born January 13, 1921 in Prescott, Arkansas, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma. During World War II he served in the Aleutians with the Arkansas National Guard and in Germany under General George Patton. He was awarded two bronze stars and a purple heart for service. After a career as a tax representative for Shell Oil, he enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Europe, Australia and Asia. David will be remembered for his keen intelligence, sharp wit, and gentle nature. He is survived by his beloved wife, Yvonna; sons, Matthew and Mark; daughters, Julia Fitzgerald and Gwen Hyatt; brothers, George and William; sister, Ruth Kathryn Odum; nephews, Richard and Mike Crandall; 5 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by previous wives, Mary Joyce and Hilda; and brother, Harold Dean.

Memorial service will be held Thursday September 29 at 10 o'clock at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel, Pasadena, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
