Well Uncle David, time has come to part ways and journey down the remainder of our paths without you. I am saddened by the loss and think back of many memories of my life, and child hood. A great many of these memories include both you and Papaw. I can hear the many conversations around our dinner table in regards to which stand to hunt or where the deer might be just to hunt in the same places as last year as if it were yesterday. I will wish for one more conversation with you, as I have wished for the same with Papaw since his journey with us was completed. Thank you for the times and memories, and thank you for taking me in as your nephew. I will miss you and hope to see you again on the flip side with rod and reel in one hand and rifle in the other. Until we meet again....
Suzette Knox

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed....and held so dear.
In loving memory,
Suzette

When you were born, I was 8 years old,
You were the baby of the family, and I loved you.
As I grew up to become a teenager, you were too young
To share in some of the adventures we had, but I loved you.
I grew up too fast and left home to start my married life,
We missed some important times together,
And I truly regret that, but I loved you.
As adults, (like most brothers), we had our "ups and downs",
I am truly grateful we ended on an "up"!
I hope you know how much I loved you!
In loving memory,
Your big brother, Paul

I was very sad to hear David passed away. I was filled with a flood of fond memories -the Best being: 1975 when David joined our family, on our annual vacation to Garner State Park - FUN FUN Summer floating the Frio.
David will always be remembered by all that knew him, as a Great guy, avid sportsman, kind and thoughtful-- he will be dearly missed.
May God bring the family peace and comfort during this difficult time of grief.

David, I will miss you dearly. You and I had so much fun in the classes we had together in high school, especially Art class. For those who didn't know this about David, he was a talented artist. You also had a gift with having your contagious smile. Everyone you spoke to, whether they were a stranger or you knew them, would always walk away with a smile too! RIP my dear friend.

I am so sorry to hear about David. The first memory I have of him was in third grade. He was in Mrs. Langley's class too, and I made it no secret I considered him to be my boyfriend. Even as an eight year old, David graciously tolerated this. The crush continued all through jr high.
We ran into each other many years later as young adults and talked easily for hours, reminiscing, catching up. David touched my life in nothing but positive ways. He was bright, kind, open, and honest...a really good person. I know he will be greatly missed.

As your neices we will forever have fond memories of us sitting around as a family listening to Knox boy childhood stories. We love you dearly and miss you forever more!! Sometimes in life there are people who are willing to say what they mean no matter what. We like to believe we have some of your bravery running thru our veins. Life wont be the same without you!
To our dearest Memaw,
As mothers we can not fathom the pain you must be feeling after losing a piece of your heart! We will be praying you find comfort in the days ahead. One thing is for sure...Uncle David rests in a much better place and is reunited with Papaw, probably catching a fish or 10!
We send our love to all of the Knox family who are hurting after such a great loss.

I met David (Pish) and Renee many, many years ago on the patio at Paris in Las Vegas.. We were instant friends.. It was amazing that I was there meeting people from La Porte all those miles away..
He helped through a rough time when a dear friend of mine passed away.. He didn't even know her, and yet he showed up at her services to support me.. There are not too many people that would do that. He was always willing to share or help out.
I wish I had been a better friend these past few years and stayed in touch more. I will always regret that..
But I have some super memories of our great times in Las Vegas together and all the side splitting laughter he was capable of causing.. There was never a dull moment when Pish was at the Meets..
I am going to miss you brother.. RIP David..

My prayers are with Mike and all your family. Working with David was both pleasure & chore. Oh how I remember working with him and Bill Page. He was so knowledgable and for sure did not like being told how to do something. Stubborn as an ox but him and Renee were so much fun to be around. My heart breaks for the entire family and Renee. I was shocked to the core when David Shelton called. Oxy was a wonderful family to work with. Life long friends were made.

To the Knox Family;
I am so sorry for your lost, but remember earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and received you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (John 14:2,3).

David was a very kind, gentle soul. Upon our first meeting, he charmed my Mom, daughter & sister with his enormous "Texas-ness". A year later, my Mother became ill & passed. We met several times after that & he always talked about the Meet with my Mom. May God bless you all.

I worked with Mike and David at Oxy. Use to meet them and others up at Texans, when it was open. I transfered to a different plant through the contract company I work at Oxy for. Even though I was not at Oxy I still met up with them from time to time. Loved listening to the stories him and Mike would tell, even if they were just stories ;-) He was a good man and will be deeply missed. My prayers are with the Knox family. I will not be able to attend for I have a family funeral to fly out to that evening.

I have a hole in my heart the size of Texas! Not only have I lost a brother, I have lost a lifelong friend.
From the time mom told me, "take care of the baby", I have tried to do just that. Sometimes David made it easy and other times he made it so hard it was almost impossible. David did it his way or not at all.
Not many people got inside to see the goodness in David. The people he loved were really loved.
You will be missed by many.

David was one of the most entertaining people either of us has ever had the privileged of knowing. We were introduced by the internet and became part of a unique family that has grown together for the past 15 years. No trip to Las Vegas will ever be complete again with the absence of that genuine smile, honest personality and generous nature that David possessed. Of all the friends we have lost through the years, the loss of David hurts the most. He will never be forgotten.

To all of David's family,
We are so sorry for your loss. David was a very good friend of ours and although we lived thousands of miles away from each other, we talked and text whenever we could. Dear Knox family, I am so sorry I can't be down there at this time to give you each a hug. It's hard to understand why the youngest of "our boys" is the one to be first chosen to leave. We can only hope that one day this might be made clear to us. Until then you all must continue to love and take care of each other in the beautiful way you took care of David. He was a fortunate man to have been a part of such a loving family. Please give "Uncle Sonny" a special hug before he heads back. We both love you all so very much. Aunt Paula
