David Scovel Obituary
David Ross Scovel, born January 16, 1952, passed away on September 17, 2015.
David was born in Houston, TX to Vivian and Simeon Scovel and lived in South Houston for most of his life where he worked for his parents at the South Houston bookstore for many years. He sat at the board of the South Houston Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Rotary Club. David also enjoyed spending time at the family bay camp fishing and also going deer hunting. David was an active member of the Eagles lodge where he enjoyed visiting with friends and playing cards.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Vivian T. Scovel, father, Simeon E. Scovel, sister, Patricia A. Jaynes.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Francine Scovel and husband James Wheetley and Patricia Scovel and husband Johnny Ramirez; 3 grandkids: Kyleigh, Jazzmine and Aleeah, sister Mary Norris and her husband Ted Norris, brother-in-law, Dicky Jaynes, wife Donna Scovel and her daughter, Melissa Conklin, and her 4 grandkids.; Also, Ex-wife, Vicki Hale, many nieces, nephews and many friends. Pallbearers will be: Richard Jaynes, Sean McQuiston, James Wheetley, Johnny Ramirez, Richard Norris, Robert Norris and Honorary Pallbearer: Denny Jaynes.
Viewing will be Friday, September 25, 2015 at Forest Park Lawndale from 4-9pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10am. Graveside service will start at 11:30am with the reception following in the Holland Hall Reception Room of Forest Park. Pastor Ron Nissen will officiate the services.

Missing you a lot,we had a lot of good times together,and two beautiful daughters,you ended up with three very loving,caring grandaughters.So so sorry things all ended up the way it did.The girls told me you had been ill for sometime now,but I always kept you in my prayers,and forever in my heart.You were a good husband and a wonderful father,and I know I never told you,but even though we were apart,I never stopped loving you.You were my first and I'll always have a place in my heart for you

It has been a year and I still miss your voice, I miss your early morning call on my birthday... I turnes 40 yesterday... Kyleigh will be 13 in 8 days. You would be so proud of her, she is doing good in school and is doing very well playing her violin. I put her in softball and she is doing very well and has taken to it like she has always played. I really miss you a lot and I know your not in pain anymore.

I hadn't seen you in such a long time. I'm so sorry to hear this news. We were such good friends when we were little, and I have so many memories. Playing ball at the corner with Ray and Harold Munn, Tommy Oldham, Terry Lindberg, the Grimes kids, Mike Brunson, The Terry brothers, Eddie Gillespie, and others I can't remember at the moment. I spent many a night at your house. I wish we had kept in touch. Goodbye old friend. I'm glad you are no longer in pain.

I miss you so much I can't believe you are gone... I'm glad Trish and I got to spend time with you before you went to be with Grandma and Grandpa And Aunt Trish and the rest of our family and friends. I know you aren't in any pain anymore I'm just gonna miss you! I love you Dad!
