Dean Jackson passed away January 31, 2015, in Pasadena, Texas. He was born in Coleman, Texas on March 6, 1929, to Robert and Lois Jackson, and was raised in Iowa Park, Texas. Dean graduated from W. F. George High School and then moved to Pasadena, Texas, in 1949 to work for Mathieson Chemical Corporation. During his two years in the U.S. Army, he was stationed at Fort Hood and served with the 2nd Armored Division in Germany. He married Betty Jo Hatten in 1953. He worked as a supervisor at Mobil and retired in 1985. As an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Pasadena, Texas for 60 years, he enjoyed serving with the Levites, volunteering as an usher, driving the church bus, helping to build the log cabin, and many other ministries. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, his sister LaCreta Samuelson, and his twin brother Gene Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, his daughter Deanna LaFargue and husband Dave, his son Jim Jackson and wife Niky and six grandchildren: Russell and wife Brittany LaFargue, Wendy LaFargue, Emily Jackson, Angela Mauro, and Kyle Mauro, and twin great-grandsons, Grant and Clay LaFargue.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 9 at 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church Pasadena, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Pasadena, 1062 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77504.
