Doris Louise Click Arnett, 84, passed away on May 8, 2013 in Trinity, Texas. She was born on May 22, 1928 in Callisburg, Texas to John William and Myrtle (Harkey) Click. Doris married Cecil Evans Arnett in Harris County, Texas on November 1, 1947, shortly after graduating from Collinsville High School in Collinsville, TX. They were married for 51 years until Cecil's passing in 1998. Doris and Cecil relocated to Jacinto City, TX and purchased their first new home where they raised one child. She was a member of the Eastern Star Pasadena Chapter 711 and the Jacinto City, TX Church of Christ. Doris worked for Sears & Roebuck Company for over 30 years in various capacities within the personnel department. She loved music and playing the guitar. As a member of the Pasadena Music Club, her band the "Roustabouts' played for a majority of nursing homes in the Pasadena, TX area. Doris had her own show and never missed a chance at playing until her disability overwhelmed her. In 2010 she moved to Trinity, Texas to live with her son and daughter-in-law where she enjoyed activities at the Martin Senior Center. Doris enjoyed taking her short walks down the street visiting neighbors, having "Socks" the cat at her side. She spent hours sitting on the back patio overlooking the lake and watching all the water fowl, deer, and eagles, as well as supervising the new families in the Blue Bird House with her binoculars. Doris is survived by her son, Richard Arnett and daughter-in-law, Sally Harrington of Trinity, Texas; brothers, Maurice Click and his wife Robbie, Bill Click and his wife Bea; sisters, Ella Reed, Wanda Stowe and her husband Paul; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Click of Collinsville, TX and Dorothy Click of Mercede, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Click; husband, Cecil Arnett; brothers, Joe Click, Maron Click, and T.J. Click; one sister, Sally Lenora "Sis" Wallace; and sister-in-law, Brycie Click. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of one dear and lovely lady. I had the pleasure of playing music with her on many ocassions. Heaven has gained a beautiful and talented musician. My daughter will always miss hearing her sing "I Ain't Gettin Nuttin For Christmas" she loved Doris dearly. My deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family.
