Doris Davis was taken to Heaven on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016. Born in Bordentown, New Jersey in 1934, she and her family moved to the Houston area in 1956 and resided in Pasadena for many years following. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Rebecca Vastine Utecht, and her brother H. L. Fox. She is survived by her husband, W. D. Davis, daughter Cindy and her husband Michael Wisdom, daughter Tanya and her husband Randy Squires, siblings Joanie Sailor, Renee White, Albert Fox, and many other close family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doris worked for many years at Southern State Lumber, where she was a talented accounts receivable manager. She loved animals and was always willing to take in a Chihuahua, or two, or three. She enjoyed Tuesday lunches at First Baptist Pasadena, where she was known for her entertaining humor and constant laughter. Doris was small in stature, but large in life and you did not have to know her long to see the twinkle of good-natured mischief in her eyes. As a member of her neighborhood, Parkview South, she was involved in her community and frequently offered her advice to the city employees, officials, and local animal shelter. She dearly loved her daughters and all of her family. Her last wish was that instead of a traditional service, we had a true celebration of her life with stories and laughter, instead of tears. This celebration will be held in August, 2016 with details to follow.

We spent many evening with Doris and Dud sitting in the front of their garage. Laughing and having a great time with loving neighbors. Doris loved life and could get into mischief in the blink of an eye. She touched so many with her wonderful humor.
