Edna Earle McFarland Pierce, 86 of Pasadena, TX, went home to glory on July 4, 2017 in Pasadena, TX. She was born July 20, 1930 in Lawley, Alabama to J.J. and Rosie McFarland. Edna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Elton Pierce; son, Kenny Pierce; sisters, Blanche McFarland and Kat Richardson. She is survived by son, Robert Pierce and wife Sharon; daughter, Jeannie Hinton and husband Dan; son, Carlton Pierce and wife Stacey; and daughter, Soozi Haynes and husband Danny; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Edna was a very outgoing lady who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved her country and was always interested in the politics of who and how it was run and certainly didn't mind sharing her opinion. She worked for the City of Pasadena at the Pasadena Heritage Park and Museum as the curator for 17 years. She poured her heart and soul into restoring and reclaiming Pasadena's history and historical records. A job that she loved and was totally dedicated to. She actively worked through February 2017 till her health began to fail. Edna loved collecting primitive antiques and traveled extensively to find just the right ones to add to her many collections. She was a lifelong Christian and an active member of South Main Baptist Church where she went on several mission trips and was the head cook. Everyone loved her Bread Pudding! She had a passion for cooking. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11am at South Main Baptist Church 4300 E. Sam Houston Pkwy S. in Pasadena, TX 77505. Family will be receiving friends from 9:30am to 11am at South Main Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Edna to the Pasadena Historical Society 204 S. Main St in Pasadena, TX 77506.

Jeannie,I just saw that your mom passed away. I am so sorry to hear that. She was such a sweet lady. I know you will miss her but you do have peace in knowing that you will see her again one day. Our love and prayers are with you.

I loved this lady~ tough as nails~sweet as sugar~she was there for me through some of my toughest times~she said what she meant and meant what she said...and I loved that about her~I will truly miss "my" Sweet Edna~

Edna was a great friend. I had the opportunity to dine with the family on many occasions and she was a wonderful cook. Edna was a friend to the friendless and shared her love with all. We will miss her.
