Edward Cox Obituary

Edward (Bud) Cox died on February 16th after a short battle with Congestive Heart Failure.

Ed was born in Barberton, OH on August 28, 1938 and raised in Doylestown, OH. He attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School and is a graduate of Doylestown's High School class of 1956. Since Ed was a child, he always wanted to be a pilot. He took his first solo flight in 1957. Ed attended Indiana Technical College before his commission into the Air Force in 1960 where he flew KC97's and KC 135's. Ed flew jets for Continental Airlines from 1965 - 1984 and then joined the FAA as a Simulator Inspector until his retirement in 2005. Ed married Karen Strub at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (Canton, OH) in 1962. Together they lived in Ohio, California, Texas, and Oklahoma where they raised 4 children. After Karen's death in 2018, Ed relocated to Frisco, Texas where he joined the Watermere Senior Living Community. Ed was an avid golfer, amateur artist, and later in life, an excellent bean-bag-baseball player! Ed is survived by his children: Julie Cox of Norwalk, Ct, Raymond Cox (Diana) of Rockledge, FL, Sally Gill (Steve) of Exton, PA and Robert Cox (Rachel) of Little Elm, TX. Grandchildren: Pierson, Mitchell, Kannon, Ally, Sydney, Hannah, and Nicholas. He is preceded in death by his wife Karen and his parents Raymond and Emma Cox. Funeral Mass will be Friday February 25th at 10 am in the chapel at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Prosper, TX. We were deeply saddened to learn f Ed´s death and would like to express our sincere sympathy to your family on behalf of the R2K Alliance Team. Mr. Cox was highly respected by managers and co-workers alike throughout the entire company.

Ed played an active role within our team and it was always a pleasure when we worked with him. He has many friends here who will miss his sense of humor, values, and dedication. Believe me, his contributions and dedication to this company will not be forgotten. His presence impacted many of us.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies at this difficult and sorrowful time.
