F. Charles "Charlie" Guetzow, 87, made his transition on December 14, 2012. Charlie was born on June 9, 1925 in San Benito, Texas and served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. There was music both in his heart and in his feet. When the music would start to play - you could find him on the dance floor. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals, and his "Jocko" was his faithful companion, never leaving his side until the end. Charlie is survived by his wife Bonnie; son Karl Guetzow and wife Jan of Missouri City; daughter Belinda LaTouche and husband Pat of Kingwood, daughter Kathy "Kat" Fisher and husband Tom of Tiki Island, daughter Lynette Gregg and husband Dick of Seabrook; brother Gene Guetzow and wife Griselda of Brownsville; sister Catherine Corbello of Kerrville; grandchildren Mark, Erin, Trey, Heather, Kristien, Dustin, Damon, Devin, Chelsea, Vanessa; great grandchildren Megan, Elena, Will, Hattie Grey, Ainsely, Jacksyn; aunt Rebecca Guerrero of Houston; brother-in-law Ned Cadwell of Houston; sister-in-law Sally Myhre of Norway; mother-in-law Helen Sonnier of Deer Park; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Services are pending and will be held at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas. His wife would like to thank her brother Ned Cadwell, sister Sally Myhre, and neighbors Sue Blansett and Brandi Loyd for their many kindnesses throughout the last year. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcolmbe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030. Have a wonderful time dancing with the angels, my darling.
