On September 26, 2011, the mysteries of our Lord called to heaven Fred Silvas. Beloved son to Elida and Jesse Silvas, Sr., devoted father to Laura (Adam) Andrea and Cindi (Austin) Jones, loving grandfather to Carly, Alyssa and Ali, dedicated brother to Diana, Jesse, Jr. (Frances), David (Laura) and Chrissie (Michael). Though he was only given to us for 67 years we are comforted that his struggles have come to an end and he is at peace.
He enjoyed going to see his granddaughters when they played either basketball, softball, soccer or be it a violin, piano or dance recital. He proudly served our country by dedicating 4 years of his life to serve in the United States Air Force. Freddie was an avid participant at the activities held at the Moose Lodge where he could be seen playing a friendly game of cards on a Saturday afternoon.
Endless thanks to the caring team of physicians and nurses at the Michael DeBakey VA Medical Center. Their support through these last few months is heartfelt and very much appreciated.
Freddie will be met in heaven by his father Jesse Silvas, Sr., maternal grandmother Nellie Benavides, companion Betty Fulgham, Big Tato and cousins Tony Jr., Dolly and Pokie. Even though the miles may have separated Freddie from his Aunts and Uncles and the special bond he shared with his nieces, nephews and cousins, each had an extraordinary niche in his heart.
