George Warren Bickley, age 79 of Ingram, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 in a Kerrville hospital. He was born July 4, 1932 in Pendleton, TX to Ennis and Marietta (Shipp) Bickley. On January 29, 1955, he married Bettie Boyte in Houston, TX. George served in the United States Air Force and retired from the Texas Employment Commission in Pasadena, TX where he was a long-time resident. Survivors include wife, Bettie Bickley of Ingram; daughter, Sue Elaine Bickley of LaPorte, TX; brother, Norman E. Bickley and wife, Kathy of The Woodlands, TX; nieces, Ginny Bowles and husband, Justin, and Betsy Bickley; great nieces, Emma Bowles and Sofia Baxter; confidant and cousin, Nancy Smith of Hunt, TX; as well as numerous friends and relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012, 6-8 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Services will be held Friday, June 1, 2012, 2 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Brother Thomas Jeffers. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery. The family will be having a fellowship at Living Tree Baptist Church in Ingram following the services. Those who desire may make donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to a charity of one's choice. I am so sorry about your father Sue! I only met him a few times in the 1970's. Losing a parent is difficult. Didn't know he had been in the Air Force. Looks like he had a long & productive life.
