Glenda Lynn Billings-Wright was called from the Heavens to be with God on October 22, 2011. God granted Wanda Mae Hardcastle-Billings and Earl G. Billings the gift of her on October 28, 1948 in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Atlanta High School, Atlanta Louisiana, class of 1966 where she played basketball and was cheerleader. Glenda loved the outdoors, nature, God and her family. She could be seen riding on the open roads on her motorcycle, bringing blooms of flowers to life, enjoying simple things and bringing the world a good feeling by her smile. She loved to express herself through writing, doll-making, gardening, antique collecting, genealogy and her family. Glenda gave so much to those that knew her and loved her by teaching them her wisdom and positive outlook on life. She was an inspiration to many people and molded their ways. She was the foundation of her family and support to many. She was an extremely intelligent woman with views beyond this world. She was the best mother to her daughters that they could ever wish for and an extraordinary wife. She was beautiful inside and out. She had a heart of gold and a passion for history and life in itself. There was never a day that passed that she did not breath it in and enjoy it. Pall bearers for service include: John Phillips, Joe Horbath, Billy Russell, Randy Henley, Bill Cole, Mason Horbath and Luke E. Horbath. Glenda leaves behind her loving husband of 43 wonderful years John T. Wright, and two daughters Stacy and Shelly Wright. She also was blessed to have five grandchildren: Shelby Elizabeth Phillips, Bailey Madison Phillips, McKenna Lynn-Katrin Phillips, Cameron Lynn Russell and Luke Elston Horbath. Her mother, Wanda Mae Hardcastle-Billings, and her brother Leslie Billings.
A funeral service was held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, October 26th, at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel, Pasadena, TX., and interment followed at Grandview Cemetery. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting her and being there for her throughout her life. God bless you all.

John,
I was so very sorry to learn of Glenda's passing. Though I had not seen her for many years, I vividly remember her beautiful smile and sweet personality. I pray that God will keep you and your family in his loving care and that you will somehow find comfort in this very difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Sincerely and with deepest sympathy,
Shawn and Sheryl Smith
