Guadalupe Herrera, 93, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2013. She was born on January 20, 1920 in Hungerford, Texas to George and Sabina Gutierrez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Demetrio Herrera; parents, George and Sabina Gutierrez; son, Edward Herrera; great-grandson, Ray Contreras, Jr.; numerous brothers and one sister. She is survived by daughters, Herlinda Izquierdo and husband Lino, Gumesinda Contreras and husband Joe and Teresa Hernandez and husband David; brother, Anastacio Gutierrez; sister, Epifania Guillen; grandchildren, Lino Izquierdo, Jr., Sylvia Guevara and husband Hector, Ismael Izquierdo, Adam Izquierdo, Ray Contreras and wife Rose, Angela Contreras, Rita Cottrell and husband Lenny, Ricky Contreras, Sandra Silva and husband Johnny, Julie Peiffer and husband Richard, David Hernandez, Jr. and wife Sabrina; 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm with a rosary being recited at 7 pm at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 10 at St. Juan Diego Catholic Church 3301 Pasadena Blvd. Pasadena, TX 77503. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
