Harold Mash Obituary

Harold Wayne Mash was born August 15, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, he passed away on September 23, 2021. He joined the Army at 17 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He remained active in the Army Reserves and National Guard and retired in August 2001 as a Sergeant Major. While doing that he managed to obtain a college degree, work as a deputy in Charlotte, N.C., and a State ABC Officer for the State of North Carolina. He was hired as an Investigator for the Federal Government, USDA, and retired after 35 years.

He was dedicated to doing his best, always loyal and kind. A strong proponent for ethics and personal responsibility. He attempted to lead by example and always stood ready to help anyone. He was a member of NARFE, lifetime member of 173rd Airborne Association, Vietnam Veterans Association, Sgt. Majors Association, and Special Forces.

Harold was a loving and devoted husband and will be dearly missed by his wife, Rose Marie. He was extremely proud of his seven children: Allen and Pam Mash of Conroe; Tammey and Dave Perry, California; Patricia Mash, Arizona; Marie Catherine Mash, Texas; Christine and Rick Summerow, Texas; David and Rita Mash, New Jersey; and Billy and Chris Mash of Missouri. He leaves behind 18 beloved grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents: Edna and Bronzie Tabor, brother Robert Tabor; and his beloved Aunt and Uncle Daune and Anna Kirkpatrick.

He leaves a deep abyss in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
