Harold "Wayne" Mears, age 71, went home to be with Jesus on July 4, 2013. He was born May 20, 1942 to Chester Mears and Darnell Moore in Texarkana, AK. Wayne was a resident in the Houston area for the past sixty four years. He loved talking with everyone, making friends everywhere he went. He worked many years in sales, retiring in 2007 from Sears. Wayne was a member of Sagemont Church. Wayne is preceded in death by his father: Chester Mears, mother: Darnell Moore and sister: Linda Richnow-Mears. He is survived by his beloved wife: Ruth Mears, sons: James and Bryant, stepfather: James Moore, brothers: Ronnie, Allan, Joyle, nephew: Randy Richnow and wife Kaye, aunt: Lee Hudson, cousins: Freda and William Powers, sister-in-law: Kim LaMounte and friend: Ray Caplinger. The family would like Wayne's extended family and friends to know that he was a kind and content good man who loved simple things and was always thankful for everything he had been given in life. He loved the Lord and would want everyone he knew to commit their lives to knowing Jesus Christ as their Savior. Wayne will be dearly missed and in our hearts until we see him again one day.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at a Location and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers , please make donations to your local Church or Houston Ronald McDonald House.

I never loved you more than I did this last year. You were always a beloved uncle to me. I always took comfort in your closeness to Mom and to me, having our own specialness. I cannot tell you how much I am going to miss you. I still see in my mind the young boy from the stories I was told, how you saw your daddy, my grandpa, coming up the road when you were but four years old after he was released from the German POW camp in WWII.. and you knew who it was and telling everyone that your daddy was coming up the road. I'm going to miss sitting with you at the table and sharing a sandwich and talking about the faithfulness and goodness of God and how that brought such a smile to you face. I Praise God for his miraculous answer to our life long prayers. I'll be seeing you soon, in our Father's house. Love you forever, Rande

Such a sad loss for all who are left and such a joy for Mr. Mears as he is now basking in the direct presence of the Lord he loves.
