James Clark Rickards, 75, passed away September 5, 2013 in Friendswood, Texas. He was born in Dover, Delaware, the only son of Howard S. Bowe and Josephine M. Clark, on June 18, 1938. He was a member of the Order of DeMolay, Wilmington Chapter in 1955. After graduating high school in Arlington Heights, Illinois, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and retired, with honorable discharge, in 1976 after 20 years of service. He then, worked for Northrop Corporation as a subcontractor for NASA's Space Shuttle Training Aircraft program. Later, he served 15 years, in public service, as a Galveston County Sherriff Deputy before retiring to a life of golf and leisure. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue M. Rickards and is survived by his children, Jack Rickards and wife Diane, Helen Foreman, Patty Goins and her husband Brad, David Rickards and his wife Dawn, and grandchildren Cody and Conner Rickards, Joe and Jessica Shivers, Blake and Alyssa Goins, and Abigail and Olivia Rickards. All services were held at Forest Park East Funeral Home.
