Jay Benjamin Emerick was born July 25, 1955 in Pennsylvania and went to be with Jesus on January 18, 2016 in Pasadena, Texas surrounded by the family he loved so much. He was an electrician for the majority of his life, but retired from working security. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jane Emerick, his father, John Emerson Emerick, and twin grandsons, Jacob and Benjamin Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Kyle Emerick, daughters Patricia St. John and Katrinia Bennett and spouse Paul Bennett, son, John Emerick and spouse Carolyn Emerick, three grandchildren, Karina St. John, Thomas (TJ) Bennett, and Aidan Emerick, brother, Johnny Miller and spouse Ruthie Miller, and sister, Marilyn Sexton and spouse Clark. He was blessed by having a huge extended family, with lots of nieces and nephews that always loved and supported him especially with his special niece, Karen Wood. He was a loving husband, superhero father, and joyful grandfather. He was passionately in love with Jesus and loved telling people about how they can have a relationship with God.
Viewing is Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at First Presbyterian, Pasadena. Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian, Pasadena.
