John Joseph Day, Jr. of Pasadena died June 21, 2015. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 15, 1942. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Anne Day, and daughters Melissa Day and Christine Arita, son Chris Day and wife Aimee, daughter Jennifer Terrasas and husband Robert, daughter Mary Day and husband Hayes Kirkland; and grandchildren John, John Daniel, Ty, Matthew, Megan, Kennedy, Cape, Colton and Hayden. He is also survived by his brother Gary Day, brother Denny Day and wife Cynthia; sister in laws Jane Fortin, Mary Beth Karr, Shelia Karr, Lynn Karr, Peggy Karr and husband Jim Martin, and numerous nephews and nieces.
In 1960, he joined the United States Army and was stationed overseas. He met his wife Anne Karr in 1971 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Throughout his military career, he was stationed in Vietnam, Iran, Italy, and Lebanon. In 1976, John and his family moved to Pasadena TX where he retired from the Army and worked for various shipping companies.
He was a friend of Bill W. since June 28, 1986.
Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church on 10727 Hartsook St. Houston, TX 77034.

What I remember most about John is his sense of humor. The way he expressed his thoughts and opinions was unique, interesting and sometimes quite amusing. He will be missed. My condolences to Anne and all the Day family.
