John Graves

John Jeremiah Graves, age 35, of LaPorte, TX, passed away on April, 18, 2014, in Douala, Cameroon, Africa. He was born on April 18, 1979 in Pasadena, TX to Eddie Derel and Teresa Hamrick Graves. On June 9, 2006, he married Jamie Poole in Cancun, Mexico. John was a loving husband, father, and son. He loved the outdoors. His friends called him "nature boy" because he knew everything about birds, fishing, and anything that had to do with the outdoors. John never sat still and was constantly doing something. He loved to barbecue and loved to have his friends over and cook for them. John will be deeply missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Jamie Graves of LaPorte: son, Tanner Jeremiah Graves, daughter, Emmy Jane Archer-Graves; parents, Eddie and Teresa Graves; grandmother, Mazie Crews; and sister, Jennifer Dawn Coughran and husband Sean; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mike and Candy Poole; and best friend Eddie Cudney and wife Amanda. A Celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home with Deacon Randy Glasgow officiating.
