Lamar Cornett Winebrenner, 80, went to be with the Lord June 12, 2013. He was born in Odem, TX February 5, 1933 to William and Mary Cornett Winebrenner. He graduated from Sinton High School, attended the University of Corpus Christi (where he met his future wife) and graduated from Texas A & I University at Kingsville, TX with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Celanese Chemical Co. for 21 years. He then worked 23 years as a contract Instrument Control Engineer in the petrochemical industry. His work took him to Saudi Arabia, Oklahoma, Louisiana and to a number of refineries and chemical plants in Texas. He retired in 1999. He was a 46 year member of First Baptist Church Pasadena where he was a deacon. He served for 9 years on the Pasadena Independent School District Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AM & FM 1155.
Lamar is predeceased by his parents William and Mary Winebrenner, Sister Mary Ruth McGehee and Great Grand-Daughter Shauna Winebrenner.
Lamar is survived by his wife of 60 years, Laverne Winebrenner. Also surviving are his four children: Billy Winebrenner, and wife Della, of Pasadena, TX, JoAnn Walden, and husband Mike, of Harrison, AR, Jimmy Winebrenner, and wife Jessica, of Alvin, TX, and Barbara Winebrenner of Pasadena, TX. Eleven Grandchildren: John Winebrenner, and wife Kari, of Magnolia, TX, Michael Walden, and wife Shelley, of Harrison, AR, Tim Winebrenner, and wife Sarah, of Tomball, TX, Mark Walden, and wife Jaime of Harrison, AR, Alecia Winebrenner of Magnolia, TX, Brandi Qualls, and husband Don, of Harrison, AR, Chad Winebrenner of Havelock, NC and Kevin Winebrenner of Seabrook, TX, Shannon Jones of Pasadena, TX, Stephanie Jones, and husband Justin Henry, of Portland, OR and Ashley Turner, and husband John of Pasadena, TX. Thirteen Great Grandchildren: Mason Skiles of Harrison, AR, Blake, Kori and Eli Winebrenner of Magnolia, TX, Logan and Emilee Walden of Harrison, AR, Saul, Ella and Isaac Winebrenner of Tomball, TX, Bryleigh and Jocelyn Qualls of Harrison AR, and Delilah and Edith Henry of Portland OR.
Pallbearers will be grandsons John, Tim, Chad and Kevin Winebrenner and Michael and Mark Walden.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Pasadena, TX. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, June 17, 2013 in the Chapel of Rosewood Funeral Home in Pasadena, TX. Burial will be in the Rosenberg City Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX at 3:00 pm.
