Leona Pavey Obituary
Leona Inez Pavey, age 88, passed away on December 7, 2011, at Park Manor in the Woodlands, Texas. Born on January 21, 1923 in Hammond, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ona Mae and Jacob Darrell Woolsey. Leona married Howard Wesley Pavey on October 27, 1938, in Bedford, Indiana. They were married 67 years, before her beloved husband preceded her in death on December 18, 2005. Surviving Leona is her daughter Jeanne Slaymaker and son-in-law Jay Slaymaker, her granddaughter Jennifer Edmoundson and her husband Terry Edmoundson and great-granddaughter Brittany Edmoundson. She is also survived by her grandson Dwayne Wesley Miles and his wife Joanne, two great-grandsons Mark Miles and Joshua Miles and numerous nieces and nephews. Leona is survived by her brother Cecil Woolsey and was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. Private graveside services were held at Forest Park Cemetery in the Woodlands.
