Mary Jo Gosdin Toney Shadd went home to the Lord Saturday May 17th at her home in Leander, Texas with her family around her.
She was born February 27th 1930 in Fort Worth, Texas to Johnnie Margret Scott and
Harlis Gosdin. Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Fred Shadd.
Son Steven Shadd and daughter Cynthia Shadd Covert. Daughter in law Selina Shadd granddaughter's Tiffany Shadd and Valerie Shadd Boeker. Son in law Paul Covert and grandson Colton Covert. Great grand children Emma Giachetti and Brody and Brenley Boeker. Plus many, many friends.
1948 Graduate of Pasadena High School Pasadena Texas.
Attended North Texas State University.
Past Member Pasadena Junior Form and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority
She was a STAUNCH native Texan who visited the other 49 states and ventured to Europe as well as the Middle East. Mary Jo could have coined the phrase "Been There Seen That". She loved to travel but always came home to Texas.
Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. She is greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank care givers and friends Ilma De La Garza and Herminia Chavez for all their special loving care this past year.
