Michael Davis Obituary

Michael Wayne Davis of Deer Park, Texas, died February 26 in an automobile accident. Michael was born September 15, 1960, attended Deer Park High School, and was a lifelong resident of Deer Park. He is survived by his mother, Velma Davis Roppolo of Deer Park, his father Wayne Davis and wife Anita of Clear Lake City, his niece Emily Davis Keo and husband Sacha of Houston, his aunt Linda McCollum and husband Howard of West University Place, his cousin Jennifer Alexander, husband Matt and their sons, Jackson and Daniel of Cedar Park, his cousin Paul Arrendell, wife Kelly and their daughters Sydney and Lauren of Fair Oaks Ranch, and his cousin Jeffrey Arrendell and wife Julie of Arlington. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Jake Davis.

As a young man Michael loved sports and participated enthusiastically in baseball and football. He was very intelligent, had a curiosity about all things and loved learning. The Discovery Channel and the History Channel were his two favorites. He was an idealist in many ways and was always an advocate of the underdog. Michael had definite and often surprising views on politics. He was a quiet, gentle man with a tender heart. Michael sustained a disabling injury to his arm and shoulder recently and had endured considerable pain as a result. It is a great comfort to his family to know that Michael and Jake are reunited and Michael is now free of pain.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation on Friday evening, March 4, at 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.at Niday Fairmont Funeral Home, 6777 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena TX 77505. Funeral service and interment will be private, at the family's request. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the Houston Area Women's Center, 1010 Waugh, Houston, TX 77019 or to the charity of your choice.

Velma, each loss our family experiences breaks our hearts more. The only positive thing is knowing we'll be reunited with each of them in Heaven. Until then, we are praying for God's comfort, healing and peace for you. We love you.

I grew up a few blocks from the Davis's, went to school with them and also played baseball with both Mike and Jake and their Dad as one of our PeeWee coaches. As I remember Mike, he was a good young man with a good heart. Hr was the quieter and shyer of the two brothers. I hadn't seen him in many years due to my family moving away a few years after graduation, but we had remained friends till his recent passing. May he Rest In Peace along side Jake !!! Warmest Regards, John E. Moore

Aunt Velma,
Sending you love and hugs from Michigan on this sad loss of Mike. May God wrap his loving arms around you and grant you peace.
Blessings to you.
There will be a day with no more tears,
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face
But until that day,
We'll hold on to you always
