Ouida Jean Lawrence Rogers, 73 of Pasadena, passed away with her children and family by her side, Wednesday, July 20, 2012. A longtime resident of Pasadena she was born in Grapeland, Texas November 17, 1938. She worked as a nurse early in her career but gave it up to take care of her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of heartfelt memories that bring laughter and smiles to all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. Her family was the light of her life. Ouida loved to have family gatherings at her home during holidays and was always the perfect hostess.
Ouida is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years Ronald B. Rogers; mother Dorothy Lawrence; father Dock Lawrence; son Troy Lane Rogers; sister Nelda Ann McCray; and grandson Tom McNeil Jr.
Ouida is survived by her three children Michael Lawrence Rogers of Pasadena; Kenneth Dale Rogers of Pasadena; and Melanie McNeil of Pasadena; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Ben Taub Trama Surgical ICU for making her final days as comfortable as possible.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday July 23, 2012 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Niday - Fairmont Funeral Home at 6777 Fairmont Pkwy. in Pasadena. The funeral service will also be at Niday- Fairmont Funeral Home, 10:00AM Tuesday July 24, 2012; interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Ouida was the perfect Mother in Law, such a beautiful smile, always welcomed you. Not to mention a great cook...banana pudding to name one... Loving Granny...was the first to hold her Grandson Mikey..pride shown on her face. Love her and her beautiful spirit...sorry the Rogers family lost a wonderful Mother, and Aunt...May she rest in peace
