On Tuesday, September 16, 2014, Jesus whispered, "My daughter Ramona, come to me." And she said, "Yes, Father I will." She now holds His hand smiling radiantly from His love.
Ramona Louise Tuttle, second daughter of Godfrey Gail and Gracie Loyce Tuttle was born January 31, 1934 in High Island, Texas. Ramona spent her childhood growing up in the coastal area of East Texas which nurtured her love for the beach. She grew like a beautiful Texas flower in Vidor, Texas and rushed to the big city of Houston as soon as she could. Ramona loved on a big scale and she wanted to be loved just the same. She was always searching for that perfect love and found it when she met Clyde Ervin Sallee. Ramona's life story takes many twists and turns, but, the most important chapter included the five children she raised with God as their center. Ramona laid the foundation she knew her children would need with Jesus Christ, their Savior and Redeemer.
Ramona shared the love of Jesus with her family as much as her love for Crystal Beach. She would pack up the car with an ice chest of food, strap a mattress to the top of the car, and squeeze in as many grandkids as she could. Then off they'd go to play in the warm water of the Gulf and sleep in the salty night air. Each grandkid has their share of fun memories made with their grandma on that beach.
Ramona took her Savior's hand and followed Him to His kingdom and waiting for her there were her grandmother, Myrtle Tuttle Stover who helped raise her; her parents; step-mother Mary; her sister Wanda Sue Tuttle Kibodeaux; and the love of her life, Clyde E. Sallee.
The story of Ramona continues with her surviving siblings, Elizabeth Gayle Tuttle, Jimmy Tuttle, Billy Tuttle, and Kenny Tuttle; her four daughters, Gale Yvonne Lyons and husband Mark; Patricia "Patsy" Lynn Coburn and husband David; Linda Louise Mogab; Edwina Ann Green and husband William; and one son, Edwin Douglas Melofsky. Through her five children, she was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Aaron, Yvonne; Brandon; Steven; Cristina; Amber; Samantha; Taryne; Brittany; Kyle; Torey; and Bill. Ramona's family continues to grow with the addition of 20 great grandchildren, and many more to come.
Ramona's Family and friends will gather at her church home, First Baptist Church-Pasadena, 7500 W. Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX77505 to celebrate her story as God's daughter on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 3:00PM. Ramona has requested cremation and her family will be holding a private beach ceremony at a later date. Ramona's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to: Hospice Compassus for the heartfelt and compassionate care they provided during her battle with liver disease. In lieu of flowers, Ramona wishes for contributions to be made to: Mission Kids International, 11536 Springshire Dr., Houston, TX77066
