Markey,My dear friend of 70 years since 3rd grade. It has been such a pleasure seeing how happy you and Ray have been and how devoted he was to you and your children. Now you have all those special memories of the time that you and Ray had together. What a blessing it is to have memories of such a wonderful person and the life that you have had in the last 30 years.
It is hard to let go, but knowing that Ray is at peace now is a blessing also.We are thinking of you and your family with love and sorrow at the same time.

The 1953 Class of Texas City High School lost a dear friend! I can't remember anyone who had anything bad to say about Ray! He will be truly missed. You & your family are in our thoughts & prayers! Keep in touch.

I was not near Ray since we were in school in Texas City...so my memories of him are limited to our lives as young people. I can see still see that sweet smile...and remember his GENTLE ways..always full of fun in his quiet way. I am willing to think that he remained as the young man that we knew and respected.
You, Markey, I know have given him the care and devotion which he deserved....As My Mother whom both you and Ray knew.. would have said..."....there will be STARS IN YOUR CROWN".
May the Good Lord Bless and Keep you and may your memories help you through the ever healing times ahead.

Markey, you are in our prayers as you go through the process of such a loss of a best friend and husband. I will never forget the first time we met you both - when we moved in the neighborhood and bought that gas dryer at your garage sale. The years have come and gone but you both were always in our thoughts. Ray was a fun and honest man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We loved the trips to the dog races, those were the good old days. Our love and prayers to your family and know he will always be present in your hearts. Love, Trisha and Kevin

We will miss Ray's special smile and his ability to make others smile with his tales of hunting adventures. His tales of wild pigs on the ranch "they taste good, but do they stink" always makes us laugh when we recall this quip.

From the moment Ray married my mother, he made my brother, Mark and Chris,my husband, Mike, and I feel like family. As our family grew through births and marriages, Joan Ann, Shannon, Savanna, Slade and Dack, he embraced us all.
Mark, Chris and Mike all have fond memories of deer hunting in Sonora where the cook doesn't clean up or do dishes. Just so you know, Ray was the cook.
The times I will miss Ray the most is when I am watching sports. He was always up on all the latest sports news. While watching football, Ray would tell stories about when he played football at U of H. He enjoyed reminding us how he played in the game when U of H beat Texas A&M. I will think of Ray whenever I watch a football game. We will all miss him very much.

Ray was a special friend.
I will always remember the "Trips Committee", and all the planning for a day of fun. He would often remind others in the community that we were both Texans.
Ray had a wonderful out look and a zest for life.
Thank you Ray for the wonderful memories...Rest in Peace.
Thank you Markey for sharing him with us. Thinking of you.
Always

Ray and I played football together in Texas City Highschool. We planned class reunions together and will be missed by many. Markey has been a great and faithful trooper through the years and I personally thank her. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace, Rayford,

My deepest sympathy to Markey and the family. After having known Ray since high school I will miss him but know that someday in the future we will all meet again. When I think of Ray in the days to come it will always be with a smile and good memories. One of the nicest things that can be said about a man is that he was a gentleman and in Ray's case this was very true. Rest in Peace my friend.

I am so sorry that my family will not be able to attend the memorial service for Ray. I did not get the chance to meet him but just a few times. I know how much he meant to each of my brothers. They spoke of him often and have shared many hunting stories.
Markey you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Please let Markey, Cindy, Harold and the others know how much Ray meant to me. He was instrumental in keeping the brothers close with our brothers hunting trip each year by providing the location and hospitality.
I will always cherish those memories. That was a cushy trip for me as the four of you had done all the work throughout the year including the grocery shopping!
Ray had a way of making you feel like you were old friends the first time you talked to him.
While we cannot be there in person, we will be there in spirit!
Our love to each of you.

Y'all are all in my thoughts and
prayers. I thought of Ray as a "uncle" and Kim, Pam, & Randy as the 'first cousins'. The times I spent with him at "The Property" will never be forgotten.

Ray was a friend and client for 22 years. He took a special interest in me, my business and my family. And as a result we became close over the many years we worked together. He was an example of the kind of businessman I wished to become...one who placed his clients' interests ahead of his own and was successful as a result of hard work and caring for others. I'll never forget Ray and his example. He was a good friend and mentor and I'll miss him.
