Richard Lawrence Lang-seth was born to Lloyd and Evelyn Langseth on January 28, 1944 at the Army Airfield in Childress, Texas. He passed away at his home in Pasadena, Texas on September 16, 2017 at the age of 73.
Richard and Sallie Mc-Phaill were married in 1964, and recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. He told Sallie every morning and night of their marriage that he loved her. They had two sons, Richard Lawrence Langseth II and Scott Alan Langseth.
Richard loved his sons, and taught them respect for others and a strong work ethic. They learned by example to become good husbands and loving fathers to their wonderful grandchildren; Allison (deceased), Kirbin, Spencer, Austin, Mallory, Abagail, Anastasia and Marcus. Bawpaw loved them with no limitations.
He was a Renaissance man... he built houses, developed sub-divisions, and was the founder of Pasadena Habitat for Hum-anity. Richard was a master cabinet maker, once earning the title of Artist in Wood in a trade magazine. He studied chemical engineering at Texas A&M University. He was a man who walked with God and had very definite religious beliefs.
Richard's health began to decline five years ago, and he was placed in hospice care two years ago. Due to the devoted care received through Season's Hospice and his loving wife Sallie, he continued to live a quality life at home with his family.
Besides his wife, sons and grand-children, Richard leaves behind his brother, David, daughters-in-law, Robin, Colleen and Leone, sisters-in-law, Barbara Mc-Phaill and Betty McPhaill and numerous nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held on October 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Richard and Sallie's long-time home in Pasadena, Texas.
Should friends desire, contributions to Pasadena Habitat for Humanity are appreciated.
