Robert E. Ellis

August 14 marked the passing of Alvin resident Robert Ernest Ellis, age 80 years, of cancer, diabetes and other complications. He is survived by his wife Diane and three daughters: Deborah Robertson, Linda Popham and Jacqueline Childers. He also had ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Robert was born in New Jersey, February 5, 1932 and formerly lived in Hammond, Indiana. He moved to Texas in 1958 and was employed by Pepsi -Cola, Golden Age and Coca Cola Bottling Companies in Houston. He served in both the U.S. Army and in the Active U.S. Naval Reserves. He also was the "Skipper" of Ship 13 Seascouts B.S.A. in Pasadena, Texas. He attended St. Peter's in Pasadena, St. Barnabas in Houston and Grace Episcopal Church in Alvin. A Viewing will be held on Sunday August 19, 2012 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Froberg Funeral Home, 115 N. Hill St, Alvin. Funeral Services will be held at Grace Episcopal Church on Monday August 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., 200 West Lang St., Alvin. Arrangements by Froberg Funeral Home.
