Robert Opel Obituary
Bob was born January 28, 1937 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Otto and Grace Opel. Three homes built by his carpenter father still stand in Jefferson City, Missouri which Bob loved to see.
He loved being a servant to his community & church families serving first as a Webelos Leader & later as Assistant Scout Master with his boys in Scout Troop 143. He served as Sunday School teacher & as greeter & as Choir Member at First United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, & Mims Baptist Church in Conroe. He was a member of the Ford Thunderbird Club, the Conroe Country Cousins, North Star Singles and the Lake Country Squares. He retired from AT&T after 33 1/3 years & proudly served in the US Army.
He will be missed.
Funeral Services will take place at Roberts Family Funeral Home at 850 North Cardinal Road in Azle, Texas on August 23 at 10 am and Burial Services will take place at Richland Cemetery at 1:30 at Austin Ave & Southwest Country Road 2340 in Richland, Texas. Graveside Pastor is Ken Hayman.
