Ronald Leroy Olson, 77, passed away on September 20, 2012 in Pasadena, Texas. He was born on November 20, 1934 in Callaway, Nebraska to Raymond and Thelma Olson. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ann B. Olson; sons, Robert Patrick, Greg Patrick and wife Cheryl, Kevin Patrick and wife Loretta, and Brian Patrick and wife Michele; daughters, Cindy Olson and Michelle Olson; grandchildren, Cody Patrick, Makenna Patrick, Stephan Patrick, Michael Patrick, and 1 great-grandchild. Ronald graduated from Bellaire High School in 1953 and entered the Army where he retired from the Army and was very proud of serving his county as a Green Beret. He received many badges and medals, among the many include, Master Parachute Badge, National Defense Service Medal 1st OLC, Combat Medical Badge, Air Medal, Berlin Occupational medal, Purple Heart 1st OLC, Silver Star, Armed Forces Honor Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/palm, Thailand Parachute Badge, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Thailand Parachute Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious unit Citation, Vietnam Parachute Badge, Good Conduct medal (1st-5th Awards) and Vietnam Service Medal. He loved to tell Army stories to his grandchildren, loved to fish and hunt, but most of all he loved to spend time traveling with his dear wife, Ann. Ronald, a True American Hero, will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held on Friday September 28, 2012 at 9:30am at the Houston National Cemetery. Daddy I will love and miss you to the day I die. I know you did your best. You were a good dad.I cherish the times we had together. I'm so proud of you. Not only were you a war Hero but most of all you were my hero. I'm so sorry I was not there to take care of you. Please forgive me. I loved you and Ann. She made everything so easy between our first visit.I would take care of her for you. For you truly loved each other that I know for sure. Thank you for giving me life and being my dad.
