Sam Lee Obituary
Sam was preceded in death by his beautiful and faithful wife of 73 years, Billie Jean Hill Lee, four siblings and two precious grandchildren, Sam Edward Lee and Lauren Elizabeth Sparks. Sam is survived by children: Landa Shaw and husband James Shaw, Byron Henry Lee and wife Laura Lee, daughter Rose Marie Sparks; grandchildren, Robin Weaver and husband Jimbo Weaver, Leigh-¬Ann Taylor, Scott Lee and wife Kim Lee, Brian McGee and wife Hollie McGee, Chris McGee and wife Lindsey McGee, Jeff McGee and wife Randi McGee, Lane Sparks and wife Amy Sparks; great grandchildren, Leslie Jackson and husband AJ Jackson, Blake Lorentz, Ally Weaver, Sam Lee, Davis Lee, Shelby Lee, Logan Lee, Morgan McGee, Brooks McGee, Boston McGee, Beckett McGee, Walker Rose McGee, Nicholas Stanger, Kathryn Stanger; and great-great grandchild ,James Jackson.
Sam was part of the Greatest Generation, a veteran of World War II who enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17. He served as a radio operator flying in blimps patrolling against enemy submarines.
Sam was the true and authentic cowboy to all who knew him. Cowboy boots and hats were what he wore every day. He loved and trained horses and rode into his 80's. He shared his love and wisdom for the cowboy way of life with his children and grandchildren or anyone who showed an interest. He was a loving husband, devoted father and true hero to his family and all who knew him.
A special thanks to the wonderful caregivers Judi, Inga, Mary Ann, Teresa, and Shelly who provided loving comfort tirelessly and to the Hospice nurses Gina,Tracy,Amy and Sandy for their care.
Services will be held at Cashner Funeral Home on Friday, January 14th, 2022 with visitation at 1:00pm and funeral service at 2:00pm, in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Bill Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Scott Lee, Brian McGee, Jeff McGee, Chris McGee, Lane Sparks, Sam Lee, Davis Lee and Brooks McGee.
