Sytha Spinks of Deer Park, Texas, Born May 13,1930 in Gonzales, Texas passed away July 30, 2015. Sytha married William Spinks immediately following World War II, her son Kenneth Spinks was born in June 1947. She worked virtually all of her life for Lubrizol as a receptionist and switchboard operator, US Industrial Chemicals as a receptionist and switchboard operator, and owner of a plant nursery in Gonzales, Texas. She lived most of her life in Deer Park, on Harvard Avenue, Peggy Street and Ellen Drive, lived a few years in Lomax on Avenue H and a few years of her later life in Gonzales, Texas. Sytha raised rode and showed Arabian horses for many years. She rode in trail rides around Texas. That was followed by raising sheltie dogs. Sytha is preceded in death by her husband William Spinks; parents Clyde and Etta Mae Henley; brother Gerald Henley. She is survived by her son Kenneth Spinks and wife Sharyn; brother Carlos Henley two grandchildren Christopher Spinks and Allison Spinks; two nephews Mike Henley and wife Melody, Don Henley. Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday August 15 in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
