Thomas Wayne Phelps Sr. passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, 2011 at Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena. He was born on September 29, 1938 near Como, TX to Flora Elizabeth Canaday and Alva Thomas Phelps. He was a member of Agape Church in Pasadena and had lived in Pasadena for 40 years. Thomas served in the U. S. Navy and had retired from Southwest Pipe Fabricating Company in Houston, TX. and K- Mart in Pasadena, TX.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Todd Andrew Phelps, Toby Dwayne Phelps and Tracy Charles Phelps; a sister, Lawana Sue Phelps Moody; granddaughter Andrea Phelps and a great granddaughter Jade Phelps. He is survived by his wife Jerry Ann Phelps; daughter Terri LeAnn Phelps; sons, Thomas Wayne Phelps Jr. and Trevor Leroy Phelps; sisters, Karen Schultz and husband Terry and Renee O'Callaghan and husband Sam; brothers, Michael Phelps and Rodger Allen Phelps; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, TX. His Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 19, 2011 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00am with Pastor Tom Miles and Pastor Kenneth Preble officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Steven Phelps, Jason Carlton, Sam Driggers and Kenneth Preble Jr.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Agape Church, 1401 Strawberry, Pasadena, TX 77502.
