Virgie Adilene Holt Stewart of Deer Park, TX, passed away into the arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Born in Jasper, Alabama on October 20, 1925, Virgie lived as an adult in Jacksonville, FL; Birmingham, AL; and finally Deer Park, TX. She cared for and helped raise her two grandchildren, and loved them very much. She loved playing bridge with her friends at the Maxwell Center in Deer Park. She was an avid reader and passed that love of reading on to her daughter. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. She will be missed by many.
Virgie is preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Carson Stewart; parents, John Jackson Holt and Ruby Hardin Holt; sisters, Virginia Holt and Lena Holt; son-in-law, Randall Allen Nally. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Stewart Nally; granddaughter, Lisa Gayle Nally; grandson, Darryl James Nally; great granddaughter, Brooklyn Ann Bayliss; brother, Ronald David Holt and his wife Jerry Ann; brother, Jimmie Lynn Holt; and niece Allison Holt Kelley.
A memorial service in celebration of Virgie will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Deer Park United Methodist Church. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.grandviewfunerals.com

Occasionally in life, you will meet a person who stays in your memory forever. This was Virgie. She was the personification of grace and sweetness, and always had a smile for everyone. Such a sweet lady, and she will be missed.

Virgie was such a sweet lady. I was honored to have known her. She was also a wonderful friend to my Mom, Genevieve. I'm sad these two ladies are not with us, but I rejoice that they are together and receiving their heavenly reward.
