William R Bennett, age 67 of Liberty County, Texas died Thursday August 25th at St. Luke's Patients Hospital. He was born in Houston, TX, to Norman C Bennett Sr. and Virginia E Bennett. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Norman Bennett and Jimmy Bennett; two nephews, Mark Bennett and Michael Bennett and one niece Terry Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Alice Hemby Bennett; one son Billy Ray Bennett and Jody Beals; and one daughter Rachael Parham and husband Mark Parham; four grandchildren, Christian Bennett, Robert Bennett, Sydney Parham and Gage Parham; one brother, Richard Bennett and wife Donna; sister-n-laws, Kathy Hemby Barnes and husband Mike, sister-n-law Lois Bennett and sister-n-law Patty Bennett; and several special nieces and nephews. He was a dedicated employee at Champion Paper Mill on Sheldon Road for 37 years, a proud member of the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department for 34 years which he held numerous officer positions. He was a Mason for over 20 years at the Masonic Lodge # 1155 in Pasadena, Texas. Bill was a people person, a true gentleman, a great friend, a loving and devoted husband and father who delighted in the camaraderie and accomplishments of his friends and grand extended family. At this time the family would like to thank the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department for their love and support. Services were held at Grand View Funeral Home.
