Jolinda Jones Obituary

Jolinda "Jo" Gaye Jones

Pensacola - On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Jolinda "Jo" Gaye Jones, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother passed away at the age of 72.

Jo, a longtime resident of Pensacola, FL was born on April 18, 1948 in Superior, NE to Claude and Janatte Graham. She met William "Bill" M. Jones on August 25, 1998 and they married August 19, 2000.

Jo grew up on the family farm outside of Webber, KS. Nicknamed "Sissy", or "Prissy Sissy", by her favorite Uncle Paul, she was the only girl in a family of four children, but dominated them all. She attended Webber grade school, graduated from high school in Norton, KS in 1967 and graduated from her beloved Kansas State University in 1971, returning to complete her Master of Finance in 1973. Jo was a wealth of football knowledge, especially college, and never missed watching her favorite K State Wildcats play. Her diverse work experiences ranged from milking cows on the farm to becoming one of the first female partners of the worldwide consulting firm Accenture. Jo and Bill moved from Littleton, Colorado to Pensacola in February 2008. Jo quickly became a mainstay in the local community and volunteered countless hours in organizations such as The Pensacola Symphony Guild, The Panhandle Tiger Bay Club and Impact 100.

Jo was never at a loss for a kind word, sage advice or a listening ear. Her generosity and loving nature had an impact on countless lives. Jo's smile, infectious laugh, love of life, and huge heart painted a wide, colorful swath and she left this world a better place for having been such a big part of it. Jo was an important person to so many and she will be sorely missed by all.

Jo is survived by her loving husband Bill, who affectionately refers to her as Jobear; her brother, Keith Graham (Susie); her sons, Michael Brown (Melissa) and Jess Brown (Hope); grandchildren, Emory, Elana, Emma, and Austin; her aunt, Miriam Giese; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held 11:00am until a Funeral Service to begin at 11:45am Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Jim Dietz officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations in Jo's name to Gulf Coast Kids House, 3401 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32503.

It's hard to believe this thoughtful, vibrant and loving lady is no longer with us. She was a force to be reckoned with. Her honesty and integrity were refreshing and steadfast, and you always knew where you stood with Aunt Jo. I will miss her immensely and wish her family near and far strength, comfort and peace during the difficult days now and time ahead as we all learn to live without Jo.
