Kenneth Alan Phillips, 69, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away 09/09/2009.
He was the Vice President of Human Resources for Southern Farm Bureau for 28 years. Ken was formerly Commandant of the Marine Corp League for the State of Mississippi. Being a Marine was very important to Ken and held the Corps in high regard.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Phillips, of Gulf Breeze, FL; son, Stephen Phillips of Austin, TX; daughter, Sharon Hankins of Hazlehurst, MS; step-daughters Hoi Anne Thornton of Madison, MS and London Wagner of Destin, FL; and sister, Beth Sheridan of New York City; and seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father and stepmother, Gordon and Josephine Phillips, of Jackson; and his sister, Donna Walker, of Houston, TX.
The family would like to extend their gratitude for the wonderful care and kindness shown by the staff at Asbury Place and Covenant Hospice in Pensacola, FL.
The funeral service will be at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on September 12 at 10:30 am. There will be a visitation period before the funeral.
The burial will be at Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Sebastapool, MS.
Ken had a great sense of humor, was a wonderful cook, and a true friend to all. He will be greatly missed. Donations may be made to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program for Mississippi, 4350 Officer Thomas Catchings Sr. Drive, Jackson, MS 39209.

Ms. Beverly: I know your lose and share it with you. Always remember the Lord Jesus Christ has made provisions for you to be with Ken again, and there will be no more seperation ever again.

Steve & Sharon.

I was so sorry to hear about Ken. I know it will be hard, but always just look up and remember God Loves You and will always give you comfort.

I still think of the good times we used to have together. I miss yall very much. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. Your Mom knows how to get in touch with me.

Remember Ken is in a better place than we are.
