Albert Sachs Obituary

Albert Robert Sachs
April 12, 1984 - November 10, 2024
Albert Robert Sachs passed suddenly November 2024 in Petaluma, CA. Al was spiritual, a gatherer of sacred beliefs & traditions to spread peace, frivolity, joy, justice, and kindness. A Petaluma native, he was a US Deaf Wrestling Champion, DJ/scratcher, and veteran Burner (once mayor of his deaf camp). While living briefly in Santa Cruz, CA he joined the local deaf & activist community. A gentle and sensitive soul, he loved conversation, connecting deeply with hearing or deaf, creatives, recovering, and Samaritans alike. He enjoyed finding & fixing bicycles, skateboarding, cycling, thrifting, running, cooking, wrestling & refereeing, playing LEGO & video games, and exploring Chinese culture & lore. Al gathered friends, taught strangers ASL, spread laughs with clown antics, doodled, shared his love of music, and volunteered & worked for the deaf, cycling, underserved, & Burning Man communities. Albert is survived by his parents John and Anne Sachs and his brother Eli Sachse. Al "Bro Crow" believed crows to be clever, exploratory, and curious--always roaming, searching for treasure and delights. His spirit, now free to fly, will continue to be felt by those who loved him.
Celebration of Al: Sunday 1/26/25 10-1 p.m., Water Street Bistro, 100 Petaluma Blvd. N.
