My favorite Uncle June as we called him..he and my Aunt Leona were always a positive influence in my life....from the cucumber fields in VA bch to adult hood I cld always fall back on his words of encouragement..He always had a answer to whatever I asked and had a way of speaking that made you listen... I not only learned how to survive and be independent and to put God first! He showed me how to be confident within myself... I love you and will miss you!!!
Truly a Man of God!!!

To: The Church & Family of Bishop Clarence V. Russell, Sr.
From: Dr. Archie W. Earl, Sr.
I am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Clarence V. Russell, Sr. He was a great pastor, preacher, and role model. I served as a deacon and youth program coordinator (and my wife served as a deaconess), under his leadership (at Union Baptist Church), during the 1960s. The Bishop and I, both, worked the night shift at Galanides, Inc., in Norfolk, Virginia, during the 1960s. He was a hard worker. May God, especially, continue to bless and strengthen each Family member and each Church member, during this time of loss.

"GRANDDADDY,"
BISHOP C. V. RUSSELL, SR.
I WILL MISS YOU DEARLY. YOU WERE A WONDERFUL MAN OF GOD AND CHURCH WAS CERTAINLY YOUR LIFE, 57 YEARS OF PASTORING. YOU WERE MY "GODLY" EXAMPLE FOR YOU MADE LIVING FOR CHRIST SO EASY. SO ALTHOUGH I CAN NO LONGER HEAR YOUR VOICE OR SEE YOUR SMILING FACE, I KNOW DEEP DOWN IN MY HEART, THAT YOU HAVE NOT LEFT ME. SO IF MY TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY, AND MEMORIES OF YOU A LANE, I'D WALK RIGHT UP TO HEAVEN AND BRING YOU HERE WITH ME AGAIN.
REST IN PARADISE GRANDDADDY, YOU HAVE EARNED YOUR CROWN, FROM LABOUR TO REWARD
I WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR "FLUFFY GIRL"
